High Blood Pressure the Silent Killer

May 17, 2018 | Health and Life Style

High blood pressure (HBP) is often called the Silent Killer because it has virtually no symptoms until/unless it gets to dangerous levels. About 1 in 3 adults in this country have it and, though there are no symptoms in the early and mid stages, the Heart Association says that over 80% of us with it are aware of it.

The problem is, medications to reduce it have side affect, often severe enough to require additional meds just for those. But you don’t want to die from it, so what do you do? You look to an alternative medicine remedy that has been validated by study after study*, and even by the National Institute of Health, among other medical sources. And with no discernible side-affects!  What is this miracle remedy?

If you looked at the picture in the top right, you already know the answer: Garlic. Yup, that smelly yet delicious herb/vegetable has some miraculous healing properties. Reducing HBP is just one of them, it’s a powerful antibiotic as well. It is best eaten raw, though, which can produce some disagreeable side-affects itself.

However, you can get garlic as a supplement. Go into any health food or vitamin store.**  The garlic in these capsules is deodorized.

So, it’s really a no-brainer: Take garlic supplements if you have HBP. Or even if you don’t. Like I said, garlic has a lot of other medicinal properties, too.

By the way, if you have a juicer, you can use beet juice as well. It, too, is very effective in reducing HBP.  And you know, I think the smelliness of garlic is linked to its fiber somehow. All I know is I have a juicer and always put garlic in my juice. No one can smell it on me. And my blood pressure is very low. I have actually set off alarms with it.

**You can find it in grocery stores, but the quality is likely to be better at these stores.
