Go Hug a Fish

I love this picture! That little girl is so happy! Not many of us would be that delighted to hug a fish to our chest. Fish are slimy and yucky. But she doesn’t know that yet. For whatever reason, she just loves that fish. Or loves the way it feels when it wriggles against her. Who knows? But she’s happy, so who cares?

"Jewball" by Neal Pollack

All the SPHA guys want to do is play basketball. They’re not interested in politics or the impending war, they just want to play the game. And they did it than almost any other team of their day. Inky Lautman, one of the teams’ starring players, grew up playing basketball. He played as a kid and went pro at 15 for the SPHA team in Philadelphia in 1937.

"The Grave Man" by David Archer

I almost didn’t write this review. I have never read a story that was so completely unlikely. It’s about as realistic as a fairy tale, and I mean that literally. The guy puts an ad on Craig’s List for a hacker and minutes later, he’s got one who’s good enough to have already researched him and gone to the Taco Bell he’s at, from which he posted the ad.

"The Girl In Between" by Laekan Zea Kemp

The Girl In Between is Book 1 of a quartet. The premise is very interesting: main character, Byrn, has what is called Klein-Levin Syndrome (KLS). In addition to the normal kind of sleeping we all do – 6-9 hours out of every 24 –  she may pass out, anywhere, any time, and sleep for anywhere from several days to several months.
